Lake Toxaway is the largest private lake in North Carolina, with
an area of 640 acres and fourteen miles of shoreline. It is ideal
for swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing, and windsurfing from
dawn to dusk.

In addition to all the lake offers, there are miles of hiking trails
along the Toxaway River and in the adjacent wilderness.
Families have been drawn to the dramatic mountain vistas and crystal
clear waters of Lake Toxaway since 1903, when famous names like
Ford, Edison, Rockefeller, and Firestone could be found in the registers
of local hotels and country clubs. This resort area began a second
life in 1960 when a group of investors bought and restored the lake
and the surrounding 5,000 acres.
Today, Lake Toxaway is a place for all ages.
It's the perfect place for quick getaways or extended vacations.
